tbh i dont think i’ve ever needed w3schools, mdn has always been plenty for me.

I can’t talk to the hardware side, but from a software point of view it is unlikely to be possible to set up really any good tracking. The device doesn’t have a GPS, so you would have to rely on IP address location, which in turn would rely on the stealer setting up wifi on the deck without resetting it first.

It wouldn’t be hard to make the deck log the IP to an external server every time it connects to wifi, but it’s unlikely it would be very helpful. However, the deck could be set up to send more info, like nearby wifi networks, as well as a list of other devices on the wifi, which may help to locate it, but won’t be nearly as good as an airtag, or as if it had a GPS.

Did anyone else think this episode was supposed to be a dream? The fact that adverts are spread throughout definitely made me think it was (remember ads are beamed into peoples dreams).

Also there were elements shared between the anthology segments, like Fry being unwell, or Bender doing loop-de-loops that make me think it’s a reflection of some real events? Maybe events we’ll see in the season finale?

Curious if anyone else got these vibes. Could just be reading too much into it.

There have been so far 8 production seasons, and 11 broadcast seasons. The DVD box sets, and many other sources, used the order and numbering from the production seasons, whereas hulu / disney+ have been using the broadcast numbering, hence the confusion.

It might be a good idea to remove r/steamdeck_linux from the list. I restricted that subreddit a while ago, and this community serves as it’s replacement.

I’d actually recommend Filelight instead to view disk usage, as it fits better with Plasma which is used on the deck.

The other one, that is suggested in this list, is made for Gnome, and will stick out more against other applications.

I think it’s called featuring. Yep, it has been featured.

[Meta] We are looking for mods. Mods have been located, and deployed.
EDIT: Mods have been found and appointed. We are no longer looking for mods. Steam Deck has now over 6,000 subscribers! Insanity. However, with such a large group of people, more moderators is probably a good idea. I am looking for an additional 2-3 mods. If you would like to become a moderator, send me a DM with reasons why you would be a good fit.

[Guide] Playing Minecraft on the SteamDeck, handheld mode
Minecraft does not natively support the SteamDeck controller. However, mods are always here to save the day. I recommend using [PrismLauncher](https://prismlauncher.org/download/steam-deck/) to launch the game. It has first class modding support, and is just easier to use with modding than the official launcher. `Steam Button > Power > Switch to Desktop` This will switch you to desktop mode. Once desktop mode has loaded, click the steam deck logo in the bottom left of the screen to open the "start menu". `Steam Button + x` to load the keyboard, and search for "Discover", clicking it once it has been found. In Discover, use the keyboard again to search for "Prism Launcher", and when it has been found, install it. Should take a minute or two. You should now be able to find Prism Launcher in the "start menu". If you cannot, restart the deck, and re-enter desktop mode afterwards. Launch Prism Launcher, it should get you to configure language etc first. If it asks you to select a Java version, select "17" (or whatever the highest is). ![](https://sopuli.xyz/pictrs/image/7bd292ee-ce72-4d6d-ad6b-9d11ba27bf07.webp) Click on accounts (1) and manage accounts. It will open the account manager screen. Add a Microsoft account (2) (or Mojang, if you haven't migrated), and follow its sign in steps. When you have signed in, you can create a new instance. There is a large "Add Instance" button. Click it. It will open the new instance dialog. ![](https://sopuli.xyz/pictrs/image/b3673136-7299-4e39-82aa-e62052134ca1.webp) Make sure to select Fabric (2). Going with the default (starred) options should be good. Then press OK, which should create the instance for you. Right click on the new instance you just made, and select "Edit Instance" (1). ![](https://sopuli.xyz/pictrs/image/77b813b0-d17a-4e0c-a543-2c0d653ca808.webp) Switch to the "Mods" tab, and click "Download Mods" (2). Under the Modrinth tab, search for "Fabric API" and "Midnight Controls". Select each for download, then click "Review and Confirm", then "OK". It should install the mods for you. ![](https://sopuli.xyz/pictrs/image/6972cefd-9565-440f-81a5-2eaa0a431f6b.webp) You can now launch the instance. It should launch into the game. All going well, you should now be able to play the game entirely with the controller. You can change controller settings in game by going: `Options > Controls` then clicking the controller icon next to `Key Binds`.

[Meta] Steam Deck has reached 3k subscribers. We did it Lemmy!
Don't have much more to add, just thought that it's neat. We have officially passed the subscriber count of r/steamdeck_linux.

[Meta] r/steamdeck_linux will henceforth be restricted. Consider this the canon forum for the community. Also, sort by new; hot and active are broken.
I used to use Apollo daily. I'm so glad someone suggested that I set up this sublemmy as a backup. Loving lemmy and this community so far. I restricted the subreddit to allow any guides etc to be available again, but such that no new content can be posted. If Reddit really goes back on their changes, I might public it again, but tbh that's unlikely. I have been blown away by the amount of people that have already jumped ship, and joined this little community. Honestly had almost forgotten I had set this up. Glad to see you all here! Edit: just to be clear, I was the mod of [r/steamdeck_linux](https://www.reddit.com/r/steamdeck_linux/), not the larger [r/steamdeck](https://www.reddit.com/r/steamdeck). It was a smaller, but more linux focused, subreddit.
