Probably because everyone is in it for short term gains and to gain something for themselves. If politicians actually cared about the advancement of the human race, (in any way), they’d join each other towards building common goals until no common goals are left.


This is good because when the world goes to shit while the sun is cooking us alive and people want to use my shelter in the post apocalypse, I can tell them all to fuck off without feeling bad for them.


Look, idgaf about musk or anything he does but why is it on him to fix misinformation on x? Why is it the job of the platform owner? Id really like it if someone explained this to me.

The way I see it, content on these platforms is user generated, misinformed or not, propaganda of one side or the other… If someone decides to put up a plain old text document and let everyone modify it, should the owner of said document really be liable for what others put on it? What if the document has no owner and is hosted in a peer to peer fashion? Who do we give 24 hours to fix it then?


The future is riddled with choice. That’s kinda the point and it encourages competition and results in better products. The choice may not be obvious now but will become with time. Leaving reddit? A year ago, the alternative was unknown, today the choice is clearer.
