I mean, I’m a dev who got laid off almost a year ago and still can’t find anything. I know tons of others who are in similar positions. So…

And yet, higher ups continue to lay off more devs because AI “is the future”.

Gotta make life harder for homeless people

Yeah it sat in my wallet for a long time and wasn’t really gaining any value. I didn’t have a need for the trade route anymore cuz I just used it once for some exotic spices that I didn’t really care for. Mining wasn’t an option for me because I didn’t have a powerful computer as a broke college kid. So I just kinda checked out.

Still sucks to think about how I could have ended up with a great return, but hindsight is 20/20 and all that.

I forgot about Bitcoin when it was still mostly worthless. I got rid of my old laptop when it had a ton of issues. I had around 8 btc left in a wallet after spending several hundred on um… An ancient trade route lol.

The other key feature being cost. A VDI terminal is much cheaper than actual PCs for employees. When I was working IT for a large company, we were able to get them in bulk for about $100 each. A PC cost us at least $800.

Jamie Dimon can forever suck my taint. In 2021 he told us, after record breaking profits, that they couldn’t afford raises or bonuses.

After a grueling year of insane productivity. After all the software devs were pushed to work 60-70 hours a week, every single week. My team had to work till 9pm every single Friday for deployments. But yeah, you can’t afford bonuses or even a cost of living raise.

Fuck him

I’ll stick to my Brother laser printer. Bought it during the pandemic and still haven’t been through an entire toner cartridge. Never had an issue printing either.

I got it for work documents that needed signed and mailed and such. And I like to print out flow charts and the like for big projects so I can reference them without having to pull them up digitally.

I was just nit picking your statement that you seem to think that a vulnerability MUST exist on both platforms. The article later goes on to say that it can supposedly affect both device types.

You understand they’re completely different operating systems right? The presence of a massive vulnerability in one doesn’t necessitate the same in the other. Look at the zero click vulnerabilities in iOS from 2022 that didn’t exist in Android.

It’s an adjustment to corporate greed. That’s for sure. My market is completely fucked. Been unemployed since November.

When was that? I remember finding it in the early 2000s and it was awful even then. But I only spent my time there on b

Yeah the contract is how a few exchanges got stolen from in recent years

I think I would cry if that happened. There are few YouTubers that I would be really devastated to find out they’re a piece of shit. He’s definitely up there. Now that you mention this though, he’s disappeared from my recommended page and I need to go on a binge of back videos.

I’m gay and I was somewhere in Germany. Mainly due to the black metal and one American band that is insanely popular in Germany for some reason.

So much so that they recorded their live 20 year anniversary somewhere there

This is not Firefox specific. It’s another anti ad blocker technique they’re trying.

I get that lots of people are here because they’re against modern trends in Internet applications. But can we stop with the constant complaints of the exact same issues every single day? It’s frustrating. You’re preaching to the choir and saying nothing original.

And another pointless argument. “They could spy on you easier means they’re not.”

I know I said I was done, but good lord. I can’t tell if you are trying to troll or you’re completely devoid of logic or reason.

The current text of Article 45 requires that browsers trust CAs appointed by governments

Tell me you didn’t read the article without telling me you didn’t read the article. You can keep shilling for government surveillance if you want, but I’m done listening.

Yeah that argument holds zero water. Forcing browsers to trust these roots means not only pre-trusting them, but disallowing removal of trust. This is completely intended for surveillance purposes.

What a fucking nightmare. And I thought the US was bad about trying to encroach more on privacy.

One of the biggest medical interventions for COVID was intubation. Having experienced unilateral vocal cord paralysis after being intubated for surgery and days after due to complications of the procedure - you really want to avoid it if possible. It took surgery and 18 months for me to speak normally again.

I’ll take feeling crummy for a few days with low risk of actual harm to avoid that happening again.

I think I can say this now because it’s been 10 years. But in one of my old jobs, I set a new windows administrator password for all assets across the organization. Previously it was 8 characters with a known word with an exclamation point added at the end.

I got the approval to set a new password that would be secure but easy to remember for the IT guys that would be using it on a daily basis. They complained about my first two choices, so I said fuck it and changed it to F0rH315ThEKwi$atzHad3rach!

I could remember it just fine. Still do to this day lol. They complained about a 14 character password before and I was tired of trying to get them on board.

As soon as I left for greener pastures, I heard they changed the password to something easy again. Oh well, not my problem anymore.

The sad thing is that they’re probably just gonna shut down shop there and hurt these workers. Not justifying their low payment at all. Just fuck. Capitalism is fucked up.

I had a similar experience. I don’t even remember the sub, but I was banned so I asked why I was banned. Site banned for mod harassment for asking a question. Sucks for them cuz they banned a bunch of bot accounts that I ran as well. This was pre API changes so they still provided value.

A few mods reached out to ask if they could have the bot code but I was like, fuck Reddit lol.

I’m struggling to understand the reasoning behind this. Like these are just lightbulbs right? What’s the value in that data that I’m not seeing

Most of these people worked there before Elon took over. It’s not super easy to switch jobs right now. So it’s not like this was self imposed like you’re implying.
