Honest question. I feel like I’ve seen this same story 5 times already… is it being reposted a lot?

Darn, a Musk article got through my anti Twitter, anti Musk Sync for Lemmy filter. Time to ass Neuralink to it.

Ifs been glorious weeks since I saw Musk on Lemmy.

Starlink really is great if you can give it full view of the sky. Other than Musk’s anti democratic stances and heavy rain cutting it out, it works so well.

My internet where I live is through cable and it’s terrible. Bad. Outtages all of the time. Down for days at times. So I switched to starlink. It’s fine. Works great EXCEPT WHEN IT RAINS HEAVILY.

Heavy rain blocks the signal. Elon Musk owns it.

Now, I have a t-mobile hotspot. It’s only $50 per month as opposed to the $110 for Starlink.

If you have no other decent option, Starlink is amazing. If you have other options, don’t give Musk your money.

A bot that posts sports team scores to a sports community? Sure, I guess. A bot that reports popular reddit posts? No way.

Some content bots make sense, but in a very narrow scope.

Seriously. At least put the twice daily Elon Musk stories in one thread.

It’s fucking ridiculous.

“When this image came up, we all loved it, then I said, ‘Hang on it looks a little AI-ish,’ then we all started talking about it and went well, we can’t know for sure it is or isn’t, but on the basis we’re suspicious we can’t allow it in.

  1. They couldn’t reach out to the lady?
  2. The hands are all normal shaped hands with the right number of fingers. It’s clearly not AI.

Also this kind of exists already, with one extra step. Use your thumb to open your phone, touch your phone to the point of sale device.

  • PDA - yes. Palm Pilot and even an Apple Newton
  • 3d TV - Yes, but I never used it

Reddit will die off in stages. Slowly.

First the power users are leaving now. These are the mods and the major content creators (think Minecraft leaving)

Eventually they will piss people off again and the more common content creators will leave.

Then after reddit has worse and worse content, the users who just comment will leave.

After that there will be nothing worthwhile for the lurkers and they will leave too.

Reddit will then be a wasteland.

This will all take quite a while. Even Digg took time to die off.
