If it supports Linux I’ll consider, by that I specifically mean official OEM driver support (hopefully open source) alongside official power management utilities (hopefully GUI but TUI is fine)

Fun fact: when you plug in one side of a male to male connector the other becomes hot, if you somehow manage to plug it in you WILL fuck up your electrical system

Who knew that absolutely proprietary software also tracked you, I’m soooooo shocked

Wow another Winbloat feature I don’t care about and fortunately will never have to

I hope they force Apple and other OEMs to allow alternate OSs as well, if I want to install Linux on my phone I should be able to.

The future of capitalism, if you don’t like this then fight against it

Android is absolutely proprietary, AOSP is open source. ASOP makes no money, Android does. In a perfect world OEMs would ship AOSP but they don’t.

That’s interesting, counterpoint who here cares about Reddit?

Maybe that’s because American corporations suck, wouldn’t it be great if Biden actually enforced anti-trust laws instead of bowing down to them.

Even that argument makes no sense, look up the Microsoft Holoween documents.

The argument is basically that Windows is the most popular operating system so it should be the best or be good quality and ignores the fact that Microsoft shoves Windows down peoples throats. They have no incentive to make Windows better because OEMs will ship it anyway (ex: Vista and Windows 8).

Microsoft is so incredibly desperate to stop people from installing Linux that they’ll do everything other than making a good operating system or anything else that matters

Not everyone is driven by money, some people care about improving computing.

As much as I dislike Apple I hate Google and their stupid proprietary operating system. I wish actual mobile Linux distributions like Plasma Mobile or Ubuntu Touch were actually usable.

Breaking news: tobacco companies say the FDA shouldn’t investigate cancer

You could just use the earliest version of Windows that the software works (Windows 7 usually) and then keep the VM air gapped (aka no Internet connection)

Did your job give you a work Laptop? If you personally own it then you could just run Windows in a VM.

Fun fact: Linux is so customizable that you can run a modern GUI and software on 46mb of ram and a CPU from 1989. Don’t let Microshit tell you to throw out your old PC, it’s truly surprising what’s possible.

Yeah but determining popularity based on wither or not it’s in a distro repo doesn’t make sense

That’s an arbitrary way to decide if a package is worth installing

Yeah but LibreWolf is hardened and far more private and secure
