The thing that annoys me the most is how it cares about whitespace/carriage returns. I remember back in college when I was taking a CS class, learning Python and writing the Code on a Windows PC, emailing it to myself, and then attempting to run the code on Linux. Before I learned about the carriage return conversions, I remember having to rewrite about 75 lines of code before I got it to run. 🤬

Sounds like Miami, every day I look at the temperature and it’s like 82-90, feels like 100. Literally every day since like late May/early June, the weather report says “oppressive humidity, extreme caution” since it hangs around 70-85% with a dew point in the mid 70s. This isnt event record breaking either. Whenever the humidity drops down to like 60% and the temp is in the low 80s I’m like “it’s actually cool out for once” even though the real feel is like 92.

It’s been cloudy and rainy for like the past two weeks, so at least the pool is back to a cool/comfortable temperature and not like bathwater every day.

It’s just a cash grab, they gotta make money to appease their shareholders!

Musk made 151 tweets on Sunday

Assuming he’s awake for 16 hours, that’s over 9 tweets an hour. Someone is definitely scared.

I had to mail in my state taxes for NY due to NYC regulations, which I didn’t know about since I’ve been using TurboTax for 7 years. I was only informed of this after I had filed my taxes federally using the IRS system. There is no way to just file your state taxes online, you have to do both and if you submit them a second time it just gets rejected.

It’s good that they’re doing this, but it caused a lot of headaches for me that I was unaware of.

Yeah, I just assumed it would work smoothly by now. I’ve been using TurboTax for the past 7 years and have had no issues, I attempted to save money by doing it this way, but it caused way more headaches for me.

Using this ended being a massive pain in the ass for me. I could file the federal taxes online, but after I submitted it and attempted to file my state taxes online it said I couldn’t since I lived in NYC and made more than 75k/yr and I’d have to mail them in since it’s impossible to file only your state taxes online due to the IRS’ requirements.

I haven’t used my printer in years so it was a hassle just to print out 5 pages and mail them half way across the country. It also delayed getting my refund by about a month.

Same thing with big cats:

A Jaguar or Leopard just looks and acts like a big house cat… but it can crush your skull with one bite and can drag your dead body 30 feet vertically up a tree.

Kinda hard to find them if you don’t know they exist in the first place.

It just gets tiresome when you have to block 100 communities for the 15 you wanna see

The only problem with that server is there are tons of shit you’d rather not see. It’s sadly not as easy to filter like the reddit porn subs are.

This is dependent on the TRIM schedule. It could be size based (execute a TRIM when 50% of the blocks are used).

Someone comes up with something good: look what I made, we can use this to better humanity!

Corporations: How can we make money off of this?

A brain with a face, in a sweater.

This seems like a subset of The Scunthorpe Problem

This is what happens when companies use AI for dumb shit.

I finally saw one of these ugly things (the truck), down in Miami a few days ago.

That’s what I was looking for in the article but nothing is mentioned.

I’ve watched multiple shows and movies with it, I’m one of those people that loves vivid colors, so even when the TV is calibrated (using an online guide) it still didn’t look good to me 🤷‍♂️

Usenet really is great for piracy, I’m so happy that I found out about it like a decade ago. So much better than torrents.

I got an LG C8 in 2017 because I thought Dolby Vision was gonna be awesome compared to HDR10, pretty much every Dolby Vision thing I’ve watched is too dark and anything white has that stupid yellowish tint to it.

This has got to be peak Apple and a solution in search of a problem. You know how to fix the “human connection” problem? Take the stupid thing off when talking to someone

It literally takes like 2 seconds to lift it up to your forehead. It’s literally no different than taking off headphones when someone is talking to you. I’ve had multiple high end earbuds and Bluetooth headphones that have had audio passthrough and while it’s great for ambient sound it’s terrible for hearing voices while also listening to something else. It’s way better just to take them out/off, talk to someone and put them back in.

I don’t think VR will ever really take off until we get sci-fi level tech, like a few decades from now. Tech companies have been trying to pitch VR for like 30 years or more now and everyone is still like “meh”.

I went to go see Pantera and Lamb of God on Saturday and all of the 4 sites I checked had at least a $30 fee per ticket, with zero explanation of what that fee was for. The tickets were priced from $60 on up and then once you select a ticket they slap on the $30 fee! Parking was also $45, and beer was $20.

Good, because this blatant false advertising pissed me off. Straight up taking advantage of everyone that isn’t in the tech world by making them think it’s two times faster than 5G.
