I’m sure there is a reason, but if you have a collection of mp3s, why not store them on your phone or stream them from the cloud? Why use an iPod at all?
I prefer having something locally available that doesn’t depend on a connection to anything. I listen to music while driving and hour-long walks, I don’t want to be using up all my data for something like that, I’m already maxing out my data before the end of each month anyways.
