I am one of the lucky 10 000.

I always played podracer on my HOTAS like a pleb.

I’ve got the quarters if you’ve got the time to get your ass beat.

Other than my computer, phone and xbox, I own nothing at all that can connect to the Internet. It’s incredibly stupid.

Oh dear Lord. Please don’t. This is still a nice place.

Oh God the stupid little added farts got me rolling.

Redbox Gains. That sounds a lot like my failed thrash ambient band.

I will not mind walking past the boxes anymore.

That is a good suggestion. Interesting. I’ll have to try it. Although if you’re in a meeting doesn’t that mark you as busy?

I use a mouse jiggler while I’m working because I often spend quite a bit of time just thinking through data structures and code composition and Teams is absolutely sure that I’m away from my desk if it’s more than 5 minutes.

I know it’s copy pasta, but can you please swap out reddit for lemmy?

I know exactly what he is. He’s a good boy.

I’ve been using windows since windows 3. The number of times I’ve used the “recovery” feature is exactly zero.

Edit: Corrected by another user below. I have used it a couple times for update rollbacks, I just haven’t used it for a full recovery. When I’ve run into serious issues I just reload it from scratch, as I keep data and OS on completely separate drives.

This is how 80+math.floor(math.random()*30)% of all statistics are generated.

If you gave it wings, you’d have a fruit bat.

Very cute, also looks so alien at the same time.

I thoroughly enjoy the lights syncing with the music when I’m reading my Kindle in the dark. There are other solutions of course but this just happened to be built into the motherboard I bought.

I get you. I have run various distros for over 20 years but I am old and tired and I don’t want to engage with a cli again unless it ends with a t.

I haven’t had that problem but I would like to know more.

This is a rant about ASUS and their RGB lighting software
Back in the day, I knew what I would get from ASUS and their AURA tech. Pretty simple, just choose what you want and go. My LEDs did what I wanted, it was simple. But no... no they said. Instead we want you to download most of a gig of bullshit to do the same thing, but with *extra* fucking steps. I'm pretty sure my light controlling software is now tracking me. I'm not sure if the pattern of my LEDs are watching me or not. How the shit did we let this come to pass? Why do we let these monstrosities into our life? I'm part of the problem, I know. I just want my lights to do what I tell them to.

I’m so glad I don’t get more than about 10 notifications a day (outside of work emails anyway).

I already did this by never getting smart devices.

That’s my life. Reading legacy code and refactoring. It’s an easy life, living out here, free on the sea. The wind in your sails only the occasional mermaid made of O(n+1) to deal with.

I post pretty damned close to zero things in a public fashion of myself or my kids.

That’s not fucking funny. Some of us live with this kind of insanity.
