Cognizant, a professional services company that Alphabet contracted the YouTube Music team through, said in a statement that the workers were let go after their contract ended at its intended date, according to KXAN in Austin.
A spokesperson for Google told Business Insider that Cognizant is responsible for ending the workers’ employment, not Google.
“Contracts with our suppliers across the company routinely end on their natural expiry date, which was agreed to with Cognizant,” the company said in a statement.
Not sure how much of the fault is from Google’s side here since the employees contracted from another company.
Not really, they just drive the speed limit. I’ve been in Waymos a few times, and sure, on wide roads where people go 15mph over the speed limit, they’re quite slow. But I’ve also seen the Waymos go faster than other cars in more narrow roads since people were going slower than the speed limit.
Realistically, the Waymos are the only cars following the law, which can make them feel slow at times.
Why though? The main benefit of solid state is the energy density, which is not at all important for a stationary, grid-connected system. It’s also super expensive. Why not just stick with sodium-ion batteries for the grid which are way cheaper per kWh?
