Oh yay, another AI Pin or glasses or assistant thing that won’t be worth buying. Yay.

Seems like a cool idea but, so far with Gemini on my Pixel, I hate that I can’t tell what’s on device and what’s in the cloud and I ended up uninstalling it. I’m not sure Google needs to know more about me than they already do.

Supposedly the phone can run local models but I’ve only seen it in the recorder app, which isn’t really that useful, especially after all of the hype around Tensor, AICore and Gemini Nano.

YouTube videos of FSD make it seem way better than it used to be (if they’re real) and it’s surprising that no one was paying attention until now.

Companies all over the world shutdown because of their incompetence. They do not deserve to be in the security business.

I think it would depend on the level of the account. They have that feature for compliance reasons in heavily regulated industries.

Only a matter of time before they move the goal posts again to protect their monopoly. Tim Cook is a bully.

Registry keys are inferior but they do exist. The last time I used Windows I just had to set some magic reg keys and it was easy to make that happen.

Seems entirely reasonable to me, depending on the country it costs them extra to route your calls overseas to another network.

How long did it take for them to turn it off?

Yes, both sides bad, but Biden less bad. Making government easy to work with should be the bare minimum. We don’t have to throw them a parade every time they do something sane, they work for us.

Saw that too, it’s annoying. In a weird way, spam kinda legitimizes this platform as a Reddit alternative.

To play devil’s advocate for a moment, is it really a free market if we are incentivizing one technology over another?

That’s how The Herald rolls, it has long been the most sensationalistic Boston newspaper.

Try for a second to think beyond what they’re able to do now and think about the future. Also, educate yourself on Autogen and CrewAI, you actually haven’t addressed anything I said because you’re too busy pontificating.

It’s just going to create a summary story about the code base and reference that story as it implements features, not that different that a human. It’s not necessarily something it can do now but it will come. Developers are not special, and I was never talking about Copilot.

Waymo exists and is now moving passengers around in three major cities. It’s not taking over yet, but it’s here and growing. The timeframe didn’t meet the hype but the technology is there.

I’ve been a developer for over 20 years and when I see Autogen generate code, decide to execute that code and then fix errors by making a decision to install dependencies, I can tell you I’m concerned. LLMs are a tool, but a tool that might evolve to replace us. I expect a lot of software roles in ten years to look more like an MBA that has the ability to orchestrate AI agents to complete a task. Coding skills will still matter, but not as much as soft skills will.

That much stock is not easy to sell, he’d tank the value of the entire company and never retain anywhere near 193M. You could sell that much gold.

It depends. Every carrier has better or worse spectrum and/or tower coverage depending on where you are.

Yes, but sometimes it’s nice to have someone else make it, and to hang out somewhere that’s not my home office.

My local coffee scene is basically different versions of Dunkin Donuts, even the indie places have old coffee with chemical flavors. There is one place that serves a tasty espresso shot but it has inconsistent hours and is a 20 minute drive. Starbucks is closer and the app is super convenient.

We don’t all live in big cities with lots of options and Starbucks fills the void.

Interesting. I want algorithms to warn us about potential harms by Joe Biden. What if we were able to fund an AI run by the GAO that can tell us when government decisions make the majority of our lives worse?

It’s a long way off and might be a bad idea to trust an AI outright, but I just wish we had a more data informed government.

Awe, do you need to sell Tesla shares to support that Twitter debt? Poor Elon.

It could be profitable if they just stuck to the basics. Having 2000 employees is ridiculous, they’re trying to do too much.

It’s funny that they think they can’t be replaced. It will take a while but 5 years from now Reddit will be the MySpace of social news of they don’t stop bullying their users.
