Coming from Musk I still think he did it on purpose just to spite the judge.

Jesus Fucking Christ, this fucking company can pay 13 billion and it still will not do a dent on their TRILLION dollars value. Imagine all that society could benefit if those fucking assholes just paid their share, instead of us having to hear how green and socially conscious these bastards are.

Tech companies are the most disgusting corporations in their sheer greed, right up there with oil corps.

Im cautiously curious to see if they can pull it off.

We’ll have a battery that will be thousands of times more energy dense that what we have today. The tech industry will make those the size of a rice grain so we can have thinner products and the exact same battery life of electronics today. 😑

Considering that’s one of the two objects humanity ever have on direct contact with the medium outside the limits of our solar system, and the only tool we’ll have there for at least four decades, I’d argue that yes, it is pretty valuable.

The repair from distance part is nothing to be shy about, too.

Excellent! This will guarantee that I’ll have no Copilot running on my machine.

People talking about pixelfed are missing a key point: Cara is super easy to find and join. You go, type your email or login with your google account and that’s it. You don’t even have to remember a password. Nobody wants to find a server, apply to join, hope to get accepted, then somehow find all other artists like you.

Also, it looks good. Like, really good. That’s a thing that grab the attention of artists.

This also smells like “we’re shrinking our catalog and dont want you to notice it, so algorithm!”

Oh, you're saying that Recall is a privacy nightmare and a sweet target for malware? Surprised_pikachu.jpg
fedilink

This is hilarious, scrambling to get a golden parachute and live off some trust fund from the sale. The sad part is that they will probably get that.

Unless there’s a “database failure” that would resurface screenshots from your PC on Microsoft’s cloud, or anything like that. I mean, its too many lines of code, what if something happened and oops, the local data was uploaded to your Onedrive, my bad, keep using our products, this will never happen again we swear.

The only way to be sure is not having it at all. Remember the CSAM filter Apple wanted to force on iOS? This is as bad as that.

To use Recall, users will need to purchase one of the new “Copilot Plus PCs” powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon X Elite chips, which include the necessary neural processing unit (NPU).

Well, I guess I’m keeping my current notebook for the unforseeable future.

Are there even evidence that neuralink is real? All I saw was statements from Musk and its company.

That backlog of books and DVDs in my closet is more and more attractive each day.

Oh, but they tried: https://www.wired.com/story/apple-photo-scanning-csam-communication-safety-messages/

For some reason they thought that having their phones snitching on them wouldn’t be a good thing. Who knew?

“You’re all landed gentry! But hey, send some money to me by buying a little stock okay?”

Yeah spez, kindly go fuck yourself.

I guess it reached the limit of the sky box, there’s nothing running on the simulation after that.

Maybe now they can focus on things like fixing bugs and, you know, not letting their OSes being stagnant pieces of rotting shit.

To me a hud would be useful for two things, in this order of importance:

  • A rear view mirror right at the top middle of my field of vision, so I could check what is behind without losing track of my front;

  • A GPS.

Gimme those and I will be throwing money at you faster than my wallet can hold it.

Well, I guess I can’t help myself… I’ll shitpost more from now on 😅

Active as in “creating meaningful contributions and contributing to the overall knowledge base”. I still shit post from time to time.

Reddit is a trove of user built content under the guise of community. What Spez did was to say “thanks for all the free work, suckers!”, put a price sticker on it, and laughed all the way to the bank.

And this is why I’m not active on any Internet community anymore. Nevermind, I guess I just can’t help myself…

I hate Hate HATE that I’m going to say this: the iPad was just a bigger iPhone, yet here we are. It’s the perfect device for consumption and light work, yet people had no idea about what to do with it at first.

I’m more irked about that thing being gigantic and strapped to your face, thought. It’s the next level of social isolation, in a level even higher that the one cause by smartphones, and I’m not ok with that. Companies actually want to hijack and sell your reality back to you.

Every company want slaves, Elon is just saying out loud the quiet part.

Unionize now.

Just made me realize I haven’t printed anything in what, 5 years? Even at work, sharing files is way easier.

  • proprietary light bulbs, tires and air valves.
  • can only open anything engine related like fluids at the dealership.
  • can only fix broken windows at the dealership.
  • repairing means having to swap the old car for a new one for a fee, or stay with the defective car. The old car will be shredded to “save the environment”, following their “green” practices.

I really loved AI up to the point when it was a personal option. As in, I had to actively search it to use. When it began to be crammed into everything, sending my personal data to a cloud without being able to opt out, that’s a line a didn’t want to be crossed and it’s being forced unto me. That’s when I really began to hate the feature.

This, aside from sideloading, would make me actually consider an iPhone.

Now that’s a condescending shit talk. They may like their job, they could be working behind the scenes to try and contain the damage. They could be doing the best they could do with the little power they had. You try to speak against your boss alone and trash the industry you’re in, see how well it goes for you.

I don’t get the hate, I’ve been there for a year and the place is pretty cool with many writers and artists that aren’t on Mastodon. It feels like twitter on the good days. Maybe if you curate your friend list better you would get a better timeline?

This could be the real “pro” iPhone. Running m3, acting as a phone by itself and throwing a full macOS with Office and Adobe Cloud apps when docked.

A Galaxy Book 360 that runs cold and has great battery life would be perfect. I need photoshop and illustrator on a Windows machine that runs as well as a Macbook, I don’t care about gaming with an ultrabook.

Ah yes, the good ol’ extortion system: “Nice data you have here, it would be a shame if something happened to it.”

No because the price for RAM on the windows side is way cheaper than on the Mac side.
