They are only doing this because of the backlash, not because they care

Like 99 percent of companies who are suddenly doing something good and acting in the interest of the consumer.

In the last couple of years, stupid decisions like subscriptions for basic car features have made it really easy to just avoid whole car companies. Yeah, they are reversing the policy, but everyone knew it was trash from the beginning, so BMW is an easy company to avoid in the future.

Similarly, it’s going to be easy to not buy a GM car since they are no longer adding CarPlay.
