TIL people use the play store for stuff besides just a rare update and apparently browse it…

Ephinea server’s been going strong. It’s great. PSO BlueBurst (GameCube, plus episode 4).

That little box even got a recent update that lets you ban certain ads by hitting *.

Recover 1/3 of.your revenue with this one neat trick! specs hate it!

My mom loves TV and for some reason really enjoys commercials. I can’t explain it. There must be some inaudible frequency in commercials that’s repuslive to me, but appetitive to her.

My 4-year old nephew was watching YouTube Kids one night when I was babysitting, and some roblox trash was on. Usernames and chat were included on-screen. “I hate N****rs” “gas the Jews” and similar were prominent usernames and chat was full of 4Chan type chat. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ All these platforms are unfit for kids.

My parents have that Lidar cruise control on their Toyota. It was active—but not on—one day when I was driving, and the damned car started freaking out BRAKE BRAKE BRAKE thinking I’m about to plow into a parked car because there was a gentle curve in the road.

I enjoy being able to see out my car. 04 impala here. Parents have a 2018 Highlander and it’s a heavy awful low visibility nightmare to drive.

It’s really not. It seems daunting, but it’s only as complicated as you decide to make it, really. I embrace the little hairs… or snip 'em off… or hair dryer them off… or zap 'em with a lighter. I could probably get technical as hell and set things up so there’s no possible way it makes additional hairs or there’s any tolerance for errors, but I’m not going to get that much into the minutiae. I print rings/jewelry, tchotchkies, structural stuff, gears for projects, etc.

You can get into the material science, but you don’t have to.

I switched from Spotify back to Bandcamp and Apple Music. Fuck Spotify.

I thought you could refill Bics… huh. Either way, I have a zippo with a butane replacement. Doesn’t evaporate and ni wick, so it’s easier to maintain.

Sunk cost. The price for these “premium” cars is sillyz and the features don’t work. But people wouldn’t pay such a price for unfinished crap, right? Right?! So they justify it to themselves and get defensive.

So, I teach. Having a text just go “zzt” on my wrist, I can check the sender at a glance, and if it’s important, check the phone. Same with calls. Otherwise I can dismiss it and check later.

I also have my watches set up with reminders for things lile “10 mins left to class” that silently buzzes in my wrist so I know to wrap up, and both track my movement and sleep. Fun bits of data for myself, to see if I’m sleeping poorly or being as lazy as I think I am one day. The pebble even has an 8:30PM wrap-up for the day that tracks my average steps and lets me know if i’m ahead or behind my usual.

They’re useful when a phone would be too many features or too much noise.

I’ve got a Pebble and an original recipe Vivoactive. They’re both workin’ perfectly fine after all these years, battery lasts about 5 days because I have the GPS, schedule/alarms, and messaging enabled.

Once the pebble battery becomes a spicy pillow, I’ll replace it. I swim, shower, everything with these watches. They’ve both been through hell and back, and I think there’s a small scuff on one of them, at most.

I’m an idiot that’s only ever had problems with Intel. Weirdly, same with AMD/ATI graphics. Only AMD CPU/APUs and GeForce GPUs for this idiot, here.

I grew up on Atari and Coleco. Still prefer the chunky, clearer integer scaling available now.
