Penetration tester, huh? Sounds like a fun and reproductive job.

But wouldn’t that be only necessary if it needed to render real-time graphics at such a scale? If I’m correct, all its doing is playing back videos.

Wouldn’t just one GPU be enough to run the Sphere, or a I getting something wrong?

I remember hearing about that it’s not exactly high resolution, each “pixel” being a bunch of pretty large lamps.

That feeling when the 3DS is considered retro… And you still remember the NDSL being shiny hot new stuff.

I mean, yeah, that’s true… On the basis that it’s the worst social media platform for… Anything at all.

We are living in a cyberpunk dystopia right now. Or the beginnings of one. We’re just missing all the cool and badass stuff from the genre.

Can’t wait to start pirating cars.

Those ads in the early 2000s were prophetic. The answer is yes, by the way. Yes I would.

Ok, but like… You’re talking about people who’d waste money on buying a “cyber” truck in the first place. At that point it’s like people buying Apple products; it’s less about having the best possible version of the thing and more about having something from Tesla/Musk.

I can tell you straight up right now it’s not just the wealthy furries that are hanging out in VRChat.

VRChat, and similar apps, is their ultimate escapism; they actually get to be and walk around as the character they want themselves to be. So most of the furries I know, some of them not even living in their own apartment, have spent time putting money aside to buy VR headsets complete with full motion setups. Those who really couldn’t save up like that, and/or afford building a PC capable of handling VR, go for the cheapest option of buying a Quest.

Remember Ready Player One? Everyone is poor, living in pretty blegh conditions, yet many people have put a significant portion of their income aside to buy VR headsets? Those would be furries.

So… Like any social media or large message board, then?

Mastodon is a maze, or to put it differently, a mess. The one thing putting me off is needing to find an instance with the right collection of policies and rules, and I just can’t be bothered.

I dunno, man. I think it’s about time Copenhagen takes a good look at how The Netherlands has been doing things the past decade. Cycling infrastructure can do with a serious upgrade around here, and The Netherlands has proven that, yes, you totally can reduce the number of cars on the street.

Oof… This makes the dystopian, highly censored, antithetical Star Trek subreddit make more sense…

If I’d be buying a practical phone I’d be buying anything but Apple. But sure, continue deluding yourself. Your bought yourself a good and fair product. Absolutely.

Blind and ignorant you say? Sounds like I found the apple fan boys.

For the price of a Mac Book Air you can literally get a better, more powerful laptop with 16 GB of RAM.

And if you don’t need 16 GB of RAM you can get a significantly cheaper laptop.

Apple isn’t worth its price. You’re literally paying for the name.

My Dad’s wife said she wanted the iPhone. Me and brother tried to tell her it’s not worth it. She said she wanted the new iPhone because it’s trendy and she can show it to all her friends. THAT is why people buy Apple.

“… and that the tests aren’t accuarte…”

What the fuck is “accuarte”? Does nobody proof read articles anymore?

The only thing I want is a good Discord update for Linux. Streaming with sound still doesn’t work and Discord hogs more CPU resources than on Windows.

I can imagine a world where technology eliminates the need for people to live with life-debilitating disorders.

Yes, let’s imagine a world less traumatic and painful, filled with people who don’t try to halt technological and medical progress because of personal beliefs.

Article above is paywalled. This seems to be word for word the same but isn’t paywalled (maybe):

https://fiorreports.com/asd-vaccine-chinese-scientists-reach-milestone-in-revolutionary-gene-therapy-that-could-cure-autism/

Anyway. Quite impressive if true. So far this seems to have an effect on mice. But humans aren’t mice. We shall see if anything comes from this.

Are we going to read about each and every single company that stops advertising on Twatter?

Alright, so the article really doesn’t prove anything, just says OpenAI claims something and then fills it with words.

Let’s be clear here; we don’t even have an AGI. That is to say, artificial general intelligence, a man-made intelligence that is at least as capable and general purpose as Human intelligence.

That would be a intelligence that is self aware and can actually think and understand. Data from Star Trek would be an AGI.

THESE motherfuckers are now claiming they made a breakthrough on potentially creating an SI, a super intelligence. An artificial, man-made intelligence that not only has the self awareness and understanding of an AGI, but is vastly more intelligent than a Human, and likely has awareness that surpasses Human awareness.

I think not.

Oh no! One terrible corporation is saying the other terrible corporation is terrible!

Let me play a very sad tune on this really tiny violin I found.

Likewise. Still a fine device, though. Hopefully there will be OLED screens available to upgrade the older models with.

And yet I see all sorts of articles saying these platforms complain that piracy is now even higher than before Netflix became a streaming service.

Really? No reason to stop raising prices? My Jolly Roger got something to say about that.

Piracy has never been easier or safer or faster than it is now, and these platforms think driving people away with overpriced subscriptions for shitty content is beneficial for them?

I still had plenty of frustrations with it. I ended up switching to Linux finally last year when it became clear Microsoft was going to force my pc to update to 11.

Don’t fuck with Scandinavian worker rights. They WILL be protected and they DO have the power to eject a whole major corporation right out the country.

My solution was changing over to another operating system. I’ve had it to here with Microsoft, and with Proton on Steam being great as it is I really had no more excuses to stick to Windows.
