Nah, codeberg is just another company, this could happen there just as it did on gh, granted it’ll be less likely to happen there. They need to move to git platform controlled by them.


I’ve used it for a bit, and it’s really really nice. I just don’t know if I trust it to keep up with security updates, especially something so sensitive as a web browser.

The EU does not have jurisdiction outside the EU, so they can’t force it. That said, the EU is a large enough market that it would force manufacturers to also make these modifications outside the EU.


I think that what @agilob@lemmy.world is saying, is that now that companies will no longer have the option of planned obsolescence via a shitty battery, companies will pivot into sunsetting software technologies faster, so users can keep replacing their devices at the same pace they do today.
