An army of John Backplips stomping trough everything until the enemy trains William Front Flip AI sounds terrifying.

I still have my Steam Controller but I was itching for better Gyro after playing with Steam Deck so I picked up PS5 controller for PC after doing some research.

I like the PS5 one quite a lot, it does have nice upgrades over the Steam Controller like the adaptive triggers which work only in some games though and the haptics are sooo much better… But the battery life is a complete joke, it’s really annoying.

With SC I’ve just chucked in two AA batteries and was set for 3 months+ with PS5 controller I can barely get 10h with haptics and got around 15h without haptics… And it takes ages to charge too…

The only appeal of this new controller is the touch stick for gyro but other than that this seems quite lackluster imo.

It all depends on how well the performance scales at very low power like 10W for example.

Vivaldi has tab hibernation so that the extra tabs barely take any resources unless you open them.

I use over 100 tabs. Basically serves as an always changing bookmarks. Those tabs are also split across multiple workgroups between which I can switch easily with a flick of my mouse.

I sold my used RTX 3060ti to a friend at work for 220eur and it was also a really nice overclocker. I would not even pay 300$ for a new 3060, not to mention used one… You can most likely grab used RX 6700 XT in that price range which will wipe the floor with a 3060.

I got used RX 6800 XT for myself in the May last year for 400eur and it’s also a good overclocker so I got 3090 levels of performance (in raster) out of it at over 300W but at that price I can’t complain at all.

Any botanist can explain how they managed to grow a nuclear reactor plant?

It works inconsistently for me to the point that I just can’t rely on it.

I can give a very recent example, my W11 has also be freshly installed and there’s not much stuff installed yet.

I have portable version of HWinfo located in My Documents folder.

If I start typing “hwi” into search it will sometimes find it, sometimes it will find it only if I type “hw” but not find it if I type “hwi” so if I type fast I must then delete character… And sometimes it needs me to type whole name of the application and sometimes it won’t find anything no matter what I type.

Then there is Riva Tuner Statistics Server which is an installed application located on C: in Program Files folder. It launches with RTSS.exe… It may as well not exist for Windows search because no matter what I type it can’t ever find it.

Only thing I use Start button for is to turn off the PC. The search is unusable and all shortcuts are in my task bar anyways.

It is taller but it’s overall still a small car and also very light. It also uses battery to help with acceleration a bit (mild hybrid). I don’t think just because it’s taller it automatically makes it worse. There must be other factors to consider too.

And the reason I personally don’t like hatchbacks is because I’m quite tall and I don’t like sitting low as it feels uncomfortable to me and makes getting in and out of a car pain in the ass… especially when parking near other cars with little space to open the door.

- RED = Thermal Grizzly Carbonaut - GREEN = PTM 7950 (no idea if the original or some fake but it works, bought from random seller on Aliexpress) - before Arctic MX-4 was hitting TJmax 110C at 312W (good temps comparable to Carbonaut for first few days after application then drastic increase in short time due to pumpout issue) - stock paste was hitting TJmax 110C at 255W (when I got the card it was used and already almost 2y old) Unfortunately I don't have any data for the MX-4 and stock paste to put in the graph. Testing was done with TimeSpy GPU Test 2 on a loop for 10 loops.

Oh great… I’m sure this will work perfectly with no issues at all. Like for example a word “French” being censored as a bad word in Age of Empires IV where you can play French so if you want to communicate with people you get censored for no reason…

I've got a 2nd hand RX 6800 XT about 3 months ago and immediately had to repaste it as the thermals went well above 100C even at 255W. I used a new tube of MX4 which I kept as a backup and the temp went down significantly for about 2 weeks but then hot spot started to creep up until the difference between GPU Temp and TJ Max was 30C+ at times and with my OC at 300W it was often hitting 105C-109C on TJ Max in Time Spy (but even in games the hotspot would sometimes randomly jump to over 100C even if the game was using 200W). So my theory was that there is a thermal paste pump-out due to thermal cycling which would explain why the temp was going up so fast after repaste but it took me until now to try the Carbonaut pad which I assumed could fix the issue. I've used Time Spy GPU Test2 on 5 loops to get these results for comparison. GPU was set to 300W and 2600MHz at stock 1150mV. GPU fan speed fixed with side panel on the case as well. I've started in the morning so room temp went only up until I've got all my results which means that the pad results are slightly better than what I've measured. After replacing the paste with a pad the TJ Max did go down by about 6C-9C and I was only hitting about 100C at most BUT the core went up significantly by almost 20C from around 78C to 95C. This was definitely disappointing as this affected the GPU clocks quite significantly and resulted in around 250MHz drop. But because the hotspot went down this made me think that there just must be insufficient contact or cooler pressure so I was able to find some rubber washers or O-rings or whatever those are in a garage and I took off the retention plate and installed them. I tried to screw the plate back on as evenly as possible with just a normal screw driver and I hoped I wont crack the die by using too much pressure. Results are absolutely stellar as I've got almost 20C drop on hot spot vs paste (around 9C improvement vs pad without washers) which makes my Time Spy max out at 91C on hot spot. Also the GPU temp went down by more than 20C vs pad without washers and around 5C lower than vs paste to around 73C in Time Spy. So all in all I'm quite happy with the results. Washers probably did the most as I think doing washers + paste would get me similar results or maybe even better but I'm not going to try. If you decide to go for the pad I recommend to get larger than 32x32mm one as I did as it's just big enough with almost no room for error if it moves during installation.

Right, we need more positive articles like “We just didn’t lose 3TB of data on a Sandisk SSD!.. Yep, the data is still there!”

What’s up with all these Firefox elitists in the comment section?

He just walked to me and asked for belly rubs the first time I’ve seen him. Since then he adopted me.

Just upgraded to my first 240Hz display.
I've got the Samsung Odyssey G65B 32". Upgraded from a 165Hz IPS AOC AG271QG. So far so good. It's definitely much faster response time and it's so smooth as long as I can maintain the FPS high. Though mainly the colors and contrast stand out the most. I was worried about QC issues but did not notice anything out of whack yet. The only annoying thing which I'll probably never use is the built in Tizen OS to make it work more like a TV. I think that's just unnecessary. I did not even bother to connect it to network. ![](https://lemmy.world/pictrs/image/ec677850-af16-44cd-b45f-3422ff15a194.jpeg)
