Cleaning up a baby peacock sullied by a non-information spill
Old article but still relevant. If you search on google, you will see some of the same AI art.

Given that videos are currently getting copyright stuck if just having screenshots of over 10+ year old games…yeah its relevant.

Homebrew Summer Showcase
It's a couple months old but I like seeing new games for old systems.

Technology | 2024 Stack Overflow Developer Survey
Interesting distribution of OSes from Stack Overflow.

I remember back in the day, there was programs that would identify ads and remove them off on air programs. I would imagine something like that would be possible. Although at that point, just skipping the “platform” altogether might be a better solution.

If it doesn’t goodbye Youtube. I love the creators, but hate you as a platform.

Yeah its really too bad how Youtube treats other video creators. Its a strange world. Hopefully peertube (given enough time) will have some viable options or at least an alternative. Is there any other platforms that work with video creators like yourself? I personally dont know of too many other than maybe twitch? I haven’t been keeping up.

The fediverse is seeing an uptick as well. Elons enshitofication continues. Good for us I suppose.

Same deal for me too. I think the software might need to be compiled for linux instead of pushing proton. I also tried wine but no dice.

Anyone know how to get it setup on a SteamDeck?

You can probably fork bookwyrm or another related platform. Might help you out to get started on the activity hub integration and functionality.

This sucks. I’m forced to use it for work…

We made quite a few plant pots and other stuff. It’s paid for itself.

I like “how to build APIs you won’t hate”.

Whats a good google maps alternative?

Ive had some success with OSM+ but only if I supply the end point myself. Otherwise it had a really hard time getting a place like Home Depot or a local university, etc…etc…

Sound like a good gig. Ive floated the idea of going back to being a contractor, but my job is very flexable and im liking it quite a lot. Its tempting…

“Hot desking” sounds terrible! Theres a reason people decorate their seating and have their own place! And open office…thats a productivity killer.

We had a huge push to RTO…then the higher ups stopped showing up, which ment the workers were the only ones that really had to do it. So they stopped as well (whos going to snitch?) Now its back to once a week which is even less than before the RTO announcement. No one cares and it was over a year ago.

I still have mine from when I was a kid. It’s great. The only issue is I can’t see it now haha. I don’t really want to mod it.

Personally I think that a tiny bit of it is the discovery of all the security issues in the chips, making the big companies want to use their chips less or develop their own. The MINIX revelation, the security vulns, backdoors, etc just made them a terrible company for anything secretive.

Oh neat! Yeah I’ll keep an eye out

Its a lemmy (and a host of other) TUI client. I like the look and performance. GH link is here: https://github.com/mrusme/neonmodem

Part of my research as an undergrad was working with PLSA. It’s very much an algorithm.

Any good forks without AI? I really don’t want that AI companies with my data.

Is there such a thing as federated dns servers, self hosted or otherwise? I don’t particularly care about piracy but I can see this dominoing into abortion, lgtq+ ect…ect…

That’s true! Lol anyone hiring? My place just started a hiring freeze.

There’s been people talking about making a federated version (of LinkedIn), but I havent seen any actual code written.

I think it has potential, but without enough people wanting to hop on, it will be an empty solution.

New tool to help track heat and heat related health issues.

I was able to get the Zelda one working via compiling the tool with the assets. With the new tooling, has anyone been able to get any other games working?

I feel this. At my last job, there were many meetings I didn’t think were useful in addition of software change just for the sake of change. Package.json errors everywhere. Small issues with docker to fix all day.

Loving dungeon. I liked the manga as well so it’s so cool to see what they are doing with the series.

Personally I like the muse headphones. Absolutely fantastic range for the price and if you are actually looking for audio quality + repairable they are great. The build quality is also top notch and compare with the $500+ range headphones. I don’t like how apples sound tbh. For that price it should sound better.

For everything else I just get wired or target brand wireless. The target brand for less than 10$ has lasted over 4 years lol.

Repairable earbuds are now here, so that’s pretty cool. https://shop.fairphone.com/fairbuds

It’s not for me because I like wired but it’s much better than apples.
