Actually, hijacking comments for a question; I’m thinking of playing MGS all the way through for the that time. Should I do PC version of PSX or emulated GameCube twin snakes version (or emulated PSX?).
RetroAchievements recently released an achievement set for the GameCube version, so all three check the metagaming box for me. Is Twin Snakes the best or is it lacking anything major?
There’s a very very interesting story about nesticle but unfortunately I’ve forgotten it. Some kind of drama, a bit edge lord stuff, and I think someone died? It’s actually one of the first emulators, ever, though.
It was a very niche community back then though, long before IGN caught wind. Weird I only found out because of a crazy conspiracy theory uncle, though. Thanks for reminding me about UltraHLE, though!
As with Yuzu, I won’t be buying any more switch games. I’ll still be playing switch games, and so will my friends, but we won’t my buying them.
Honestly, I’ve lived watching emulators for decades. They can come and go and there’s always more, even ones that aren’t forks. Just today I was reminiscing on my first emulators, zsnes, no$gmb and nesticle. Y’all remember the peaceful zsnes snowfall? Good times.
Having been sued by copyright vultures, I definitely get the difficulty with court. The minimum just to have a lawyer retainer was 2500. The vultures told us to essentially give them 2400 and the problem would go away (a strongly worded email managed to get them off my back, but mostly because they clearly used bots).
I can see it weed out small cases less than that. I guess it’d help if I knew what people were sueing over.
Seems like a good thing?
I was wondering if it was related to anything passed recently, because another service had to change privacy rules to opt in over a rule change in Cali. I just assume if it sounds like a good thing for consumers, it probably wasn’t their choice, lol, but I guess in this case it’s just a cost cutting measure.
I at least appreciate them being pretty clear about what’s different now.
My thought… When GPT was new, I was quite invested and it worked pretty well. That was what, almost two years ago? I’ve found it just being easier and more reliable learning stuff myself and writing my own paragraphs. I wonder if normies are still in that honeymoon phase.
At some point, the false answers and predictable, soulless responses catch up to you. In a world that’s over reliant on boilerplate AI text, a personalized email with as little sass goes a long way.
I mean, the average person has no idea who is running for house, especially in primaries; most have almost no name recognition (even incumbents, unless you’re AOC or MTG). That’s why money works so well, if at the very least it helps a random voter think “that name sounds familiar, let’s go with that.”
Only solution I can think of is just removing money from campaigns and having people rely on endorsements, but that’s not happening anytime soon.
Meanwhile, Tumblr is (or was?) incredibly queer back when I used it. Where’s the love?
Reddit should have got a mention, but you know who really wins? Good ol’ Lemmy-- LGBTQ (especially T) representing here. Although that’s cheating cause we have blahaj, haha (not like the Fediverse will ever get mentioned, lol)
Cats can be remarkably affectionate to our little ones. The crazy thing is, we had two cats and the personable cat didn’t care about our newborn, but our shy afraid-of-everything cat wouldn’t let her out of his sight. Two years later he’s still with us, and he’s guarding my second kid as I type this.
Oh, this guy’s probably lying but this happened to me growing up. By law they couldn’t just evict us when the land developer wanted to turn the apartment complex into condos, but they didn’t want to buy us out either. Here’s what they did:
(1) Raised rent as much as they legally could as often as they could, and (2) Run renovation construction on the building as early as they could for as long as they could, which at it turns out, was several years of high school, and a year of college. Jackhammers, man.
Luckily, their plan backfired in large part because my dad was a functioning alcoholic in IT who was somehow able to pay for extra rent increases yet also didn’t have his shit together enough to look for a new place to live. Going back a decade and some change later, the entire block is generated with new asshole-modern condos except that one shit hole apartment building we lived in, haha.
I like that even a well paying job sounds ridiculous when paid out in equivalent hashbrowns. Look at Mr. IT over there, earning over fifteen hashies an hour. Must be nice eating so many hashies, yum yum.
Bezos made 7.9 million an hour, so converted to the new metric, he’s eating 2.25 million hashbrowns an hour. Seems a bit excessive, you’re definitely going to have indigestion.
I didn’t think Valve even expected this level of success, given previous flops. The company is a tad disorganized though, I don’t see them taking full advantage of it or offering a real sequel or alternative sizes anytime soon. (My wife requires a lite version, like Switch sized, cause admittedly the deck is a bit of a behemoth and she admittedly has tiny Asian girl hands.)
It’s mostly a joke, and my wife laughs when I see a mini or something and say “that dude must have a huuuuge cock!”-- a line I say less now that I have kids, haha.
That said, there is a certain kind of guy who most certainly takes offense most when genitalia are brought up. That, I believe, correlates with pavement princesses. (And while I hate to admit it, I’ve also kind of enjoyed co-opting the term “cuck” use since it tend to cut the deepest against the very same kinds of people who use said term. Has zero effect on my more liberal friends, too.)
Lol; now to be fair (and I’m by no means a truck guy), I find the Rivian absolutely adorable with it’s unique headlight design. Makes me think of Megaman every time I see one, for some reason.
Ok, adorable might not be what a truck driver wants to hear, but I’m the kind of person who yells “tiny dick” to himself every time I see a F-250 or bigger, in pristine condition and nothing in the back. Adorable = not insecure = cool dude or dudette.
I wanted to make a joke about my first search engine, MetaCrawler, and then found out it’s still around and still does search. Going down that rabbithole, it’s changed hands a ton and was only relaunched kinda recently at some point. Is it any good? Nah, probably not.
I guess I’ll just have to rely on my other aggregate search engine, SavvySearch (no, no the first search engine does not in fact still exist, much to my disappointment).
