I hopped on Reddit the week before the Digg migration happened. I’m not sure how I really took in the Internet before that (lolcats and wimp mostly), but I remember nearly the exact moment it happened. I’d never heard of Digg before that. I’d barely heard of Reddit.
It’s not the same as it was back then, and I’m very happy to be done with it. Fuck spez/Steve Huffman, that piece of shit burned everything to the ground to enrich himself and piss on the community.
I’m convinced those who want to be fearful of things will immediately latch onto a new source of misinformation.
This isn’t to say Facebook is good, or that we shouldn’t try to have stronger punishment for misinformation that leads to public harm, just that “people are dumb, panicky dangerous animals”
‘My personal health has declined to the point where I really need to start taking care of it. Throughout the entire project, we haven’t shared it with you, but I’ve been in and out of the doctor’s office.’
Maybe taking care of his father, I Believe the article is deliberately ambiguous, it is written vaguely with the notion that it was for his own health, but I’m not sure that’s the case. If it is then the entire project is null and void imo, you don’t get health care flipping tables and selling beans. (Which should be the name of the book he inevitably writes)
Hades and disco Elysium are both incredible experiences. Hades when you’re feeling reflexive on point and rogue lite with a hell of a story and development, disco Elysium when you want a long story driven narrative branching and repeatable.
If you want another game, with equally great story, on the entirely opposite end of replayability and gameplay (and equally highly regarded by most critics) add return of the obra dinn to your list, it also works great on the deck!
Tossing out other deck favorites here, (sorted by length of name as it appears on my phone screen, because duck it why not)
Hades
Griftlands
Dead cells
No man’s sky
Monster train
Hollow Knight
Disco Elysium
Dave the diver
Wizard of legend
Backpack battles
Hero of the arena
Vampire survivors
Skul the hero Slayer
All of these I’ve sunk dozens of hours into on the deck
Ugh. I don’t mind more the encroaching of the definition of retro, but can we have sub classifications? Burnout 3 has to be generation 7 or 8 in consoles right? My retro ends at Gen 3…
Now please remove yourselves from my lawn before I feel the need to apologize at you for asking you to remove yourself from my lawn.
Can’t wait to see what happens when one gets dinged by road gravel, it’s going to be even uglier.
Oh and about that 5-6k coating that will prevent the rust? It’ll just prevent you from seeing the rust, don’t worry, the rust will get there, it always does, that’s one of a dozen reasons why steel has been moved away from for decades.
I saw one in the bay area Sunday, it absolutely had a distinct mud/baby-poop patina. Couldn’t believe how much it stood out, how non-practical it appeared to be as a truck (I’d take a Rivian r1t any day for functional truck), and just how rusted it appeared to be (I thought it had driven through mud at first, but it was way too evenly dispersed), it couldn’t have been a year old, or seen more than ten days rain.
No, fuck you. It’s hard enough to find a keyboard with Ctrl and Alt in the positions I prefer these days. I don’t need any of the current keys smaller to make room for another one, the only times I hit that stupid key between them is quickly followed by cursing. I remove the windows key from my gaming keyboards because I don’t need it, FN is also a pain, especially when there’s no fn lock toggle. Why don’t we just use that as an alternate key? Microsoft go fuck yourself.
Not all of the buttons. Please be reasonable. Just some of the buttons.
I don’t need memory buttons.
I don’t want to push the button half a dozen times, just to miss the menu I wanted by 1 click, and have to go around again.
I don’t need separate am fm and cd buttons.
I really don’t mind a touch screen for climate control, or audio interface. Just keep the business from moving around the screen at all and I’m pretty happy.
Age of empires 2, clandun returns (both on my wishlist forever, I use m+kb for 4x games), sorted by “great on deck” top rated and added “stacklands” out for 15$, on top of songs of conquest for another 15, and my humble bundle subscription for 10… And my GeForce now founders subscription for 5$, and Xbox game pass for 15… Damn I spend too much on games
Came to point out at least 3 of those are opinion pieces in the opinion column. I’d wager money the 4th is as well
